Eugene to Host 2015 Oregon Governor’s Conference on Tourism

Published: April 09, 2015

Eugene, Ore. - Tourism professionals from all over Oregon will converge in Eugene from April 12 - 14, 2015 to discuss the growth and development of Oregon's tourism industry at the annual Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism.

Each spring, Oregon's travel and tourism specialists gather to learn, share and develop new ways to create the best Oregon experience possible for visitors and the tourism industry itself. This year, more than 450 conference attendees will be joined by industry leaders and led by Travel Oregon CEO and recently appointed U.S. Travel National Chair, Todd Davidson.

"Everything we do at Travel Oregon is aimed at improving the state's economy and job numbers through travel and tourism," said Todd Davidson, Travel Oregon's CEO. "The Governor's Conference on Tourism is where industry professionals gather to share best practices, learn the latest trends and strengthen their strategic network in order to better attract and serve the visitors who come to this beautiful place we all call home."

The event, held at the Hilton Eugene, will focus on ways to enhance the 26.8 million overnight visits Oregon received in 2014.

"The visitor industry in Oregon is very collaborative and we are thrilled to host our tourism colleagues from all across the state," said Kari Westlund, CEO & President of Travel Lane County. "It's a great opportunity to educate one another on the incredible offerings we have in Oregon, and for us to showcase what makes the Eugene, Cascades and Coast region an ideal location for leisure visitors, as well as event and meetings planners."

Preceding this year's Oregon Governor's Conference on Tourism is the 2015 Oregon Visitor Information Training Conference on April 11 - 12, where front-line visitor staff will gather to network, learn more, and briefly tour the Lane County area.
