Florence's Old Town Inn on Oregon Coast Ranked 11th "Best Bargain Hotel in the U.S."
Florence, Ore. - The recently announced TripAdvisor 2015 Travelers' Choice Survey ranked the Old Town Inn in Florence, Oregon one of the top 25 bargain hotels in the country. The Inn ranked 11th overall in "Best Bargain Hotels in the United States" for customer satisfaction.
Guest comments on TripAdvisor repeatedly praise the Old Town Inn as "immaculate and friendly" and a "really excellent value and location." Owner Gary Hoagland stated "This prestigious designation is a validation of everything we've worked for in the past 24 years."
Nestled along Oregon Coast Highway 101 near the historic Siuslaw River Bridge, the Old Town Inn is at the entrance to Florence's charming waterfront merchants' district, frequently cited as the best old town shopping and dining locale on the coast.
"I believe Florence has more fun things to do than any other destination along the Oregon Coast," states co-owner Loretta Hoagland. "No matter a guest's interest, something fun is within close range."
Nearby is the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area with public access to fresh water lakes and the Siltcoos River estuary for kayakers and birders, as well as private, guided dune buggy rides. Traveling a short distance north are two 18-hole golf courses, extended sandy beaches, horseback riding and the rocky coastal headlands featuring Heceta Head Lighthouse and Sea Lion Caves.
Old Town Inn staff act as big-time concierges, helping guests find everything from nightly restaurant specials to maps to area attractions. Guest rooms feature microwaves, refrigerators, and free Wi-Fi. Fresh donuts and coffee are provided each morning. Cable TV, coffee makers, hair dryers and a "white noise" machine for light sleepers are standard in each room.
Photos on TripAdvisor show spotless rooms and quality furnishings, rare in a bargain hotel. In fact, management will not release a room for use until it has been thoroughly inspected, even to the extent of staff checking under beds, chairs, behind dressers and armoires with flashlights.
"Owners Gary and Loretta Hoagland are rightfully proud of their staff's focus on excellent customer service, cleanliness and building maintenance, " said Kari Westlund, Travel Lane County's President & CEO.
In the summer of 2013 the Hoaglands invested nearly $750,000 in makeovers to their two Florence properties. The Old Town Inn's 40 rooms received numerous improvements including new beds, bedding, televisions, lounge chairs and wall art as well as professionally refurbished armoires, tables and desks. Both the Old Town Inn and its sister hotel, the River House Inn, consistently rank on TripAdvisor among the Oregon Coast's top 20 properties in guest satisfaction and No. 1 in guest satisfaction in Florence .
