Sports Event Planners to Learn Media Relations and Marketing Strategies

Published: July 18, 2019

The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission is hosting Winning Sports Event PR and Marketing Strategies in the fourth session of the Oregon Sports Summit Series on Friday, August 16th from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Bob Keefer Center for Sports & Recreation in Springfield, Oregon.

The Oregon Sports Summit Series, proudly sponsored by Valley River Inn, is comprised of half-day educational events. Each session focuses on a different topic and includes in-depth information on the subject matter, providing a worthwhile learning opportunity for both new and veteran sports event planners.

The curriculum of the August session will be designed to educate sports event planners on best practices in media relations and marketing strategies. Attendees will learn how to develop a plan, generate local interest, maximize participation, fill the seats and share the experience. The session will include presentations on press releases and social media, along with a “Connecting with the Media” panel that will include experts from radio, television and print media.

Others who could benefit from attending include athletic directors, coaches, booster club members and local sports team and league members.
