Travel Center Stocks Up for the Holiday Shopping Season
Adventure Center focuses on local and Oregon-inspired gifts
Springfield, Ore. - Made-in-Lane County products and Oregon-inspired gifts are filling up the shelves of the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center. Travel staff will not only be assisting people with their winter travel plans, but their holiday gift shopping too.
"From lavender and alpaca products to local beer and wine, people are often surprised by the wide array of locally-produced gifts we have available," said Samara Phelps, Adventure Center Manager. "We carry items that represent Lane County and Oregon as an extension of our brand. Visitors and residents often want something to take home or send to friends and relatives that genuinely reflects our region."
The center currently offers a selection of 53 different Lane County wines and locally-crafted micro-beers. More than 23 different types of food products are also available ranging from jams, jellies, nuts and sauces to fish, chocolate, cinnamon and honey.
A variety of apparel reflects themes around cycling and fishing. Umbrellas, designed in Eugene, come in tie-dye and Oregon yellow and green. Team colors are also seen in a number of University of Oregon and Oregon State University-themed souvenirs, sports jewelry and handbags.
Gift items showcasing local artists include nature-themed notecards, holiday ornaments, limited-edition prints and hand-blown glass. A variety of gifts for children include a range of travel and nature-themed products.
Books, guides and atlases are also available, detailing area hiking trails, waterfalls, wildflowers, birds, lighthouses and local history. Annual forest, recreation and park passes are also available.
Special gift packages can be created. Among them will be a Eugene Ale Trail package that features a gift certificate to a local brewery and Eugene Ale Trail merchandise and souvenirs.
The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center is located at 3312 Gateway Street in Springfield and is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. For more information, call (541) 484-5307 or visit www.EugeneCascadesCoast.org/adventure-center.
