Travel Lane County Launches New Eugene Ale Trail During Eugene Beer Week

- Kickoff Event - Monday, June 2, from 5 to 8 p.m. -

Eugene, Ore. - Visitors and locals alike will have a new way to tap into the area's burgeoning brewery scene. The Eugene Ale Trail will officially launch tonight during Eugene Beer Week, which runs through June 8.

A trail passport and map will be unveiled featuring 11 breweries, bottle shops and tap houses stretching from Eugene to Oakridge. Craft beer enthusiasts who visit eight of the 10 Eugene area breweries will receive a 16 oz. amber growler. An added visit to Oakridge's Brewers Union Local 180 earns passport participants a stainless steel pint cup.

Travel Lane County, in partnership with its member brewing businesses, will promote the new Ale Trail through social and traditional media outreach, blogs, ads, postcards, posters and extensive website presence. The trail will also get exposure at this year's Portland Beer Week as a number of local breweries along with Travel Lane County staff head to the Rose City.

The Eugene Ale Trail kickoff event, Monday, June 2, will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., at 16 Tons Café, 2864 Willamette St., in Eugene. Eugene's breweries will sample their best brews and give visitors a taste of what they can expect on the Eugene Ale Trail. Live music will add to the festivities. Passports will be available for download at following the June 2 launch, as well as at all participating venues.

Eugene Ale Trail prizes can be redeemed at the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Adventure Center or by mail. More than 40 events are planned at breweries, restaurants, tap houses, and tasting rooms throughout the region. To cap it off, the Cherry Poppin' Daddies headline the Sasquatch Brew Fest on Saturday, June 7 at Ninkasi Brewing Company.

Travel Lane County is a private, nonprofit association dedicated to economic development through visitor spending.
