Travel Lane County markets and promotes the Eugene, Cascades and Coast region as a destination for travel, conventions, sports, meetings and events. It serves as a private, nonprofit association dedicated to economic development through visitor spending, which pumped more than $609.9 million into Lane County, Oregon's economy in 2014. The Oregon Restaurant & Lodging Association (ORLA) is the leading business association for the foodservice and lodging industry in Oregon. A not-for-profit trade organization, ORLA represents over 3,000 members, and advocates for 9,000 foodservice locations and 2,200 lodging establishments in Oregon. The foodservice and lodging industry is responsible for 164,800 jobs bringing in over $8 billion in annual sales and generates 54% of the annual tourism dollars spent in Oregon.

With a decade of tourism leadership already on her resume, Kari joined Travel Lane County in 1996. Kari and her team have overseen the launch of many innovative destination marketing programs from re-branding Travel Lane County to this year's launch of Pinot Bingo.
