Visitor Industry Celebration to Feature Special Guest
Appearance by Northwest Travel Host
- Thursday, June 19, 2014 -

Eugene, Ore. - Travel Lane County will honor dozens of local businesses, organizations and individuals at its annual Visitor Industry Celebration on Thursday, June 19, at the Center for Meeting & Learning at Lane Community College.

Awards will be presented in seven different categories to recognize the accomplishments of those who have made a difference in supporting, promoting or enhancing the local travel and tourism industry. As an added bonus, awards will feature one-of-a-kind paintings created by local artist Robert Canaga.

This year's theme is "7 Wonders" highlighting both Travel Oregon's statewide campaign and the Eugene, Cascades & Coast Waterfall promotion.

Joining the festivities this year will be travel writer, producer, and author Grant McOmie of Grant's Getaways. His weekly travel programs, on KGW-TV and Travel Oregon's website, have highlighted hundreds of outdoor activities, attractions and natural landscapes throughout Oregon-including many in Lane County. A fifth generation Oregon native, Grant will share stories of some of his favorite places in the state and local region.

Social hour will be held from 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. The dinner and awards ceremony will begin at 6:30 p.m. Event sponsors include InnSight Hotel Management Group and Bank of the Cascades.
