Main Street in Cottage Grove

Stroll the historic stretch of Main Street through downtown Cottage Grove. Start at the Chamber of Commerce's visitor information center (across from the Covered Bridge Brewing Group) and meander all the way to Centennial Covered Bridge, a charming covered footbridge built from the salvaged wood of former historic covered bridges. Along the way enjoy historic buildings, brightly colored murals and unique shopping.

This cycling-friendly downtown is a great day-trip exploration, weekend getaway, or basecamp for further ventures into Oregon wine country or up into the foothills for waterfall hikes.

Eating & Drinking

Main Street has excellent dining options from craft breweries to diners. Choose dine in or take out from the many diverse restaurants including barbecue, burgers, sandwiches, soups, salads, tacos and pizza. Relax in the sunshine at an outside table on one of three porch-like parklettes which expanded outdoor dining options along Main Street.

Shopping

Main Street is a great place for finding unique gifts and keepsakes. The beautiful storefronts showcase antiques, books, fabrics, games, household goods and Western wear. During the holidays this is a popular destination for shopping when the stores dress up with holiday charm.

Sightseeing

While tours of covered bridges, murals and Hollywood movie sites can range throughout the town; you'll see plenty of memorable sights right along this stretch. A pleasant urban park is centered in the middle of town — relax there with a picnic or good book in summer, and in winter, admire the lighted Christmas tree.
