Market District

Eugene's Market District is a must-see destination for shopping and dining. Adjacent to downtown Eugene, this section of town is home to charming boutiques, fine dining and artsy architecture. The hustle and bustle of the markets includes many art activations, live musical entertainment and family-friendly events. Here is where choirs sing, "snow" falls every December weekend at twilight and local artists give demonstrations of their craft.

Bordering the Willamette River and Skinner Butte Park, the area has access to many recreational opportunities connected by miles of bike and walking paths. With three luxury lodging options in the immediate vicinity, a salon and spa, and close proximity to downtown Eugene's performing arts venues and the University of Oregon's sports venues—the Market District is a fabulous central location for Eugene visits.

Come here to shop

Shop the indoor and outdoor, multi-level 5th Street Public Market and Market Alley featuring unique boutiques and high-end retail. Some of the items you'll discover include bountiful florals, housewares, leather handbags, children's toys, candy and sweets, wool blankets, local artisan goods, jewelry, Nike shoes, imports and brand apparel. At Provisions Market Hall you can even pick up wine, fresh produce, gourmet cheeses and baked bread—everything you'd need for an impromptu gourmet dinner party—including the pots, pans, linens and place settings!

Shopping in the Market District is a holiday tradition. Not only is the atmosphere merry and lively, the wide selection of gift items makes it easy to check off your list.

Come here to eat

This is food heaven! Ramble through the marketplaces or around the neighborhood blocks to discover outstanding places to eat and drink. Enjoy a coffee in the downstairs deli, or a meal in the upstairs food court, or sip wine at one of the many wine bars or a craft beer at one of the local breweries or pubs. Part of the fun of this area is all the possibilities. Make reservations for a French-themed chef's dinner or pick up a Yumm bowl to go—from fine dining to casual, it is all right here.
