What could possibly be exciting enough to gather 500+ people to the Nike Eugene store parking lot on a Tuesday evening? TrackTown Tuesday, of course!
TrackTown USA has been holding TrackTown Tuesday events for a couple of years. With free food and beverages, cool raffle prizes and the chance to hear from both UO and Oregon Elite track and field athletes, it’s a surefire mix for a great time.
This Tuesday’s event was “not my first rodeo”, but the TrackTown USA folks really wowed us this time! The event was a community celebration for the return of the U.S. Olympic Team Trials – Track and Field to Hayward Field in 2016. Hop Valley was there with free beer, and plenty of food compliments of Café Yumm, Mucho Gusto, PF Chang’s, Pegasus Pizza and Johnny Ocean’s. Plus KIND Snacks (my new favorite!) had loads of free samples.
Okay, I didn’t win any of the raffle prizes – caps, water bottles and cool Nike GPS watches – but still felt like a winner with my special edition dri-fit TrackTown USA commemorative t-shirt. The shirts were available at the event for a $1 donation to the American Cancer Society.
The next TrackTown Tuesday is 7:00pm on May 28th at Valley River Inn. I’ll be there – I hope you will too!
