Award - "Male & Female Student Athlete of the Year"

Nomination criteria - must attend a Lane ESD High School, minimum 3.0 GPA, has volunteered in community at least once in the past year and has made a positive contribution to their sport.

Athletes are nominated by their High Schools and winners chosen by an Award's Committee made up of community members.

2016 MALE STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE YEAR - PAYTON PRESLEY

SportsTown Awards 2016 Male Athlete of the Year Payton Presley

Payton is currently a senior at Cottage Grove High School and plays both football and baseball, all while maintaining a 3.85 GPA. He volunteers his time with the South Valley Athletics to help organize, coach and referee youth in the community - giving them the opportunity to compete. For the last two years, Payton has provided leadership on the two teams he participates on and acts as a role model to younger athletes. He displays a positive attitude and healthy lifestyle. Payton has been featured as the KMTR Athlete of the Week and recently was named Most Valuable Player of the Season for his Sky-Em Baseball League. Payton also was recently selected as a first team all-state as an infielder. Only four players are selected for this recognition throughout the state. 

2016 FEMALE STUDENT ATHLETE OF THE YEAR - MADISEN EUSTED

SportsTown Awards 2016 Female Athlete of the Year Madisen Eusted

Madisen Eusted attends Creswell High School and is a 3 sport athlete - Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball while maintaining a 3.96 GPA. Madisen is involved in her schools Key Club and helps people in the community who are less fortunate. She mentors at-risk elementary students with the Little Buddy program. Madisen is not only a multi all-league MVP and all-state athlete, but also strives to make a difference in the lives of those around her.
