2016 SUSTAINABLE EVENT OF THE YEAR - BIG "O" ROLLER DERBY TOURNAMENT

SportsTown Awards 2016 Sustainable Event of the Year Big O Tournament

 Since their inception they have improved their Sustainability efforts annually. They use refillable water bottles only and do not offer disposable water bottles to their delegates. They have worked with Big Green Events (who partner with Food Not Waste) and compost and responsibly recycle all of their event waste for the past 3 years. Vendors at the event are not permitted to use disposable bags; recycled materials are used to print on for their program. They also pay for shuttles to help minimize the carbon footprint in this community for their delegates. Jax and Scarletta Vendetta accepted this award of behalf of Emerald City Roller Derby.
