The sunny slopes sported noble fir Christmas trees when Mark Jurasevich planted some Pinot Noir grapes in 1999. The vines thrived. Stump by stump, Mark transformed the former tree farm into a woodsy vineyard, adding Pinot Gris and Chardonnay. In 2000, he started making wine and within a few years his wines were winning awards.

To maximize sun exposure each vine is carefully pruned and managed, which increases the grape quality but reduces the quantity - a trade-off Mark is proud to make. He strives to farm responsibly, concentrating on producing the very best product. The practices he employs include cover crops, mowing, recycling, water conservation and reliance on raptors for pest control. The vineyard is both LIVE Certified Sustainable and Salmon-Safe.

Just as the vines are hand-tended, the wine is handcrafted in small batches. In 2013, he opened an urban tasting room in Eugene's Westside Warehouse District. This contemporary space clusters with other tasting rooms for wine, beer and spirits. Weekend entertainment and food carts make winetasting in the Westside Warehouse District a lively experience. Noble Estate also operates a coastal tasting room in Newport.
