Out & About With The Deathmobile

Published: July 20, 2018

July is a busy month for Cottage Grove’s Deathmobile. The Deathmobile was joined by several members of the Double Secret Society donning togas as it participated in the City of Creswell’s 4th of July Parade. They were promoting the upcoming Animal House 40th Reunion Celebration and World’s Largest Toga Party coming to Cottage Grove this summer.

Everyone had a good time marching and dancing to "Louie Louie" and "Shout!" along the parade route. Back in Cottage Grove, the Deathmobile received a little R&R (repair and restoration) and garnered a lot of attention from passersby on Highway 99 who stopped and took photos and selfies with the vehicle.

And there is more to come! On Saturday, July 21st, the Deathmobile will be participating in the Bohemia Mining Days Grand Miners Parade along with the Cottage Grove High School’s class of 1978. This year represents 40 years since the release of the movie "Animal House" and the 40th high school reunion for the class of ’78.

After Bohemia Mining Days wraps up, the Deathmobile will be going to get some culture as the Eugene Symphony returns for its third annual performance at Bohemia Park in Cottage Grove on Monday, July 23, 2018. The concert is free and festivities start at 5:30 p.m. with the instrument petting zoo. The Cottage Grove Community Band will be opening for the Eugene Symphony. Another "don’t miss" event!

Deathmobile at the Service Station by Stephen Lawn

On Saturday, July 28th, the Deathmobile will be at KNND’s Rock, Roll ‘n’ Rumble Car Show and Chili Cook-off in historic downtown Cottage Grove. The Deathmobile will be hanging with all those classic cars, enjoying rock and roll, and seeing who makes the best chili in town.

The Deathmobile will then be chilling out at the corner of Highway 99 and Main Street in historic downtown Cottage Grove reminding people to join him at the "Animal House" 40th Reunion Celebration and World’s Largest Toga Party on August 18, 2018.

Free showings of the movie "Animal House" and the documentary "Animal House of Blues" will occur during the Bohemian Film Festival in Cottage Grove the same weekend as the toga party.
