Hiking

The Pacific Northwest is known for its scenic hiking trails and easy access to natural wonders, including waterfalls, hot springs, lakes, rivers, sandy beaches and panoramic views.

Hike through old-growth forests and quiet canyons, across ancient lava beds, along dramatic cliffs and around serene lakes. The joy is in the journey as you note seasonal wildflowers or colorful fall foliage, birds and wildlife. In the winter, snowshoe at mountain Sno Parks, in the serene white forests from waterfalls to log cabin warming shelters.

Hiking Trails

Many paths and viewing platforms throughout the region are also wheelchair accessible. The miles of urban trails and plentiful public parks have helped distinguish Eugene as a gold-level Walk Friendly Community. Whether taking a gentle stroll or running, review the Adventure Checklist first and remember to take along plenty of water and be prepared for rain or shine.

More Trails

Please follow trail etiquette for mixed-use trails. This generally means hikers yield to horses (by stepping to the side of the trail and standing still so as not to spook the horses), downhill hikers yield to uphill hikers and cyclists yield to both hikers and horses.
