Eugene, OR - Travel Lane County is excited to welcome Tara Thomas as Senior Director, Conventions. Ms. Thomas will promote the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region as a convention destination by supporting convention sales efforts and assisting event planners in planning and hosting the best possible event for their organization. Tara has most recently been working at Skamania Lodge as the National Sales & Catering Manager and has a strong sales and catering background that includes working with Cracker Barrel Old Country Store, Ruth's Chris Steak House and the Oregon Convention Center.
Tara's educational background includes studies at Portland Community College and she holds professional certifications as a Certified Meeting Professional (CMP), Destination Management Certified Professional (DMCP), and has a Healthcare Meetings Compliance Certificate (HMCC).
Her wide array of professional meeting association connections include being past-president and current Social Media Chair of Meeting Professionals International (MPI) - Oregon Chapter.
