The 36th annual Oregon Asian Celebration in the Year of the Ox celebrates the theme “Strength in Unity” every Friday evening in May to honor Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month. This free event features a Night Market at the downtown Eugene park blocks from 4 -10 p.m. Friday, May 7, 14, 21, and 28. The celebration will feature physically-distanced vendor booths, cultural entertainment from dances to taiko drumming, martial arts, Asian food carts/trucks, a marketplace and Windowfront exhibits of fine arts, heritage, and crafts in nearly a dozen Windowfront Exhibits on Willamette street. Dozens of cultures will be represented at the festival including Chinese, Indian, Japanese, Middle Eastern, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, Filipino, Central Asian cultures and many more!

The event is produced by the Asian American Council of Oregon whose mission is to create opportunities that foster greater understanding of Asian and Asian American cultures by presenting special events and activities that promote friendship and harmonious relationships.
