The Podium – Spokane, Washington

The Podium generated more than $45 million in economic impact in its first year of operation (2021), significantly exceeding the initial $11–$20 million annual projection, and data shows that facility has successfully attracted events during the shoulder and low-season periods.

  • The Spokane High School Invitational, held in January, attracts more than 1,000 athletes from nine different states, with an estimated economic impact in the millions of dollars. The facility has been a major driver of lodging demand, generating more than 33,000 hotel room nights in its first full year (2022), exceeding its stabilization projection.
  • The Pacific Northwest Qualifier (PNQ), a major volleyball tournament, is cited as the largest room-night contributor in Spokane all year.
  • In 2023, 85% of the 91,000 hotel rooms attributed to Spokane Sports events came from The Podium.

Her role evolved to Director of Visitor Services and then to Director of Stakeholder Relations. In 2015, she joined Clackamas County Tourism and in 2019 was named Executive Director of Clackamas County Tourism promoting the Mount Hood Territory region. She holds a VisitAble Disability Inclusion Certificate and is a graduate of both the Oregon Tourism Leadership Academy and the Chinook Institute for Civic Leadership.
