The East and West Coyote Creek Nature Trails are within the Fern Ridge Wildlife Area. Follow the riparian woodland path that winds along the banks of Coyote Creek and past wetlands and marshes or push your kayak or canoe into the still waters of Coyote Creek for a paddling exploration. Both the foot trail and the canoe trail are excellent for birding and wildlife watching. Watch for osprey, bald eagles, herons, belted kingfishers and more. Look for beavers, coyote, deer, rabbits, frogs and snakes. Seasonal closures protect waterfowl — typically October - May.
