Crowned by the Lowell Covered Bridge Interpretive Center, this calm reservoir is popular for boating, sailing and rowing. There are several boat ramps and docks at parks on both sides of the lake. The University of Oregon and the Oregon Association of Rowers' crew teams practice here with boathouses and marina at the Lowell State Recreation Site. At full capacity the reservoir is 1,000 acres (405 ha). Fish for hatchery rainbow trout, small chinook salmon, largemouth bass, smallmouth bass, brown bullhead catfish and white crappie.

  • Description: On any given day sails dot the lake while powerboats cut long lines through the water and rowers slide past the Lowell Covered Bridge. In addition to water sports, Dexter Lake is also known for its fishing, boating, and disc golf.
