Eugene Japanese-American Art Memorial
Address:East 6th Ave
Eugene OR 97401
This beautiful garden is an acknowledgement of the Japanese-American internment during World War II that impacted thousands of Oregonians, including families in Lane County. The memorial includes three plaques entitled "Justice", "Honor" and "Perseverance" and a statue of a young girl sitting upon suitcases as she awaits relocation. The garden is located on the Hult Center for the Performing Arts' east plaza, the site of the former office building where Japanese-Americans registered for internment. Dedicated by the City of Eugene in 2007.
