In front of the Eugene Library, the founder of Eugene, Oregon is memorialized in bronze. Eugene Skinner laid out the city in 1851 and donated part of his land for county buildings. The "Eugene Skinner" statue was created by Jim Carpenter. It is an approachable piece, with Mr. Skinner sitting down, hat in his hands, gazing in the direction of Skinner Butte.
