Eugene Symphony’s story began in 1965 with a bold notion – that Eugene could and should have its own symphony orchestra. Over the next 50 years, that idea, first dreamt of in a living room and nurtured by visionary volunteers and dedicated musicians, has grown into one of America's preeminent regional orchestras – one that has hosted music's greatest superstars, launched the international careers of talented conductors, and become one of the cornerstones of the performing arts in Oregon.
