Fern Ridge Lake is a popular recreation area for water sports, such as windsurfing, sailing, water skiing, flat water kayaking, stand up paddling, swimming and fishing.
Fern Ridge is southern Willamette Valley's largest reservoir at 9,000 acres. Catch white crappie, brown bullhead catfish, largemouth bass, bluegill, and native cutthroat trout. Extensive wetlands provide opportunities to view waterfowl and other wildlife. This is popular birding area.
Orchard Point Park is one of its many accessible shoreline parks offering picnic facilities. This is also a popular camping destination. Fern Ridge is located in the Veneta vicinity, west of Eugene.
During warm months, watch for algae blooms which may be harmful to people and pets.
