Lowell Covered Bridge Interpretive Center
Address:Intersection of Jasper-Lowell Rd and Hwy 58
Lowell OR 97452
This historic covered bridge, built in 1945, is open to pedestrians only and features a self-guided interpretive display on Oregon's covered bridges. It once spanned the Middle Fork of the Willamette River at 165 feet (50 m), but now extends partially over Dexter Reservoir. Back-lit displays delve into the bridge site's history including environment, construction, maintenance and community. It is a great picnic spot next to Dexter Lake and Highway 58. On calm days, the reflection of the bridge on the water is beautiful. DIRECTIONS: Located just off Highway 58 at the Lowell intersection.
