Mt. Baldy is a moderate level hike with beautiful summit views overlooking Eugene, with the main trailhead just 5 miles (8 km) from the city center. The Mt. Baldy hike is a 1.13 mile (1.8 km) mixed-use loop and is one of the high points on the extensive Ridgeline Trail system. There are stairs on the northside of the loop.

The views from the top are mostly south-facing with one bench facing north toward the city of Eugene. The trail travels through both forests and across the open grassy hillside.

Directions to the Dillard East Trailhead: In South Eugene, take Dillard Rd to Hidden Meadows Dr and park in the designated parking lot. There is an information kiosk at the trailhead.

An additional trailhead is off Spring Blvd, but there is limited street parking.
