The Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail is a 2,650 miles (4,265 km) wildland route connecting Mexico and Canada. In Oregon, the trail travels 118 miles (189 km) over Lane County's Diamond Peak and through the Three Sisters Mountains. Considered a scenic section ideal for day or weekend hikes, the Oregon route traverses two wilderness areas and skirts a third with diverse landscapes from forests to lava fields. The Willamette Pass trailhead is approximately 70 miles (113 km) from Eugene. Access the trail just east of Willamette Pass Ski Area on Hwy 58 or off Hwy 242 near Dee Wright Observatory.
