The PCT traverses 118 miles (189 km) of eastern Lane County through two wildernesses of diverse landscapes including old growth forests, lava rock and alpine lakes. Ideal for long day hikes and weekend backpacking. Directions: the signed trailhead for the Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail (PCT) is a half-mile west of the Dee Wright Observatory on Highway 242. Join thru-hikers crossing the lava flows toward Little Belknap Crater, or head south toward Lava Camp. DAY-USE FEE AREA/RECREATION PASS REQUIRED.
