Eugene, OR - Travel Lane County's President/CEO Kari Westlund will provide a state of the industry address during Travel Lane County's Visitor Industry Celebration on Wednesday, May 17 at 11:45 pm. The Celebration will take place at Venue 252, located at 252 Lawrence Street in Eugene. 

The Visitor Industry Awards recognize individuals and organizations that have contributed significantly to the Lane County hospitality industry. "It is exciting to come together to celebrate our region's hospitality partners each year, and this year's lineup of award recipients represents the amazing individuals and organizations that are the backbone of the visitor industry in Lane County," noted Kari Westlund, Travel Lane County President/CEO.  Recipients.are recognized in five award categories and award videos will be available following the event.

The Convention Leadership Award is presented to a local resident(s) or business that is directly responsible for the confirmation of a meeting or event, which brings in a significant number of overnight visitors to Lane County. 

The Sports Leadership Award is presented to a local resident(s) or business that is directly responsible for the confirmation of a sports event, which brings in a significant number of overnight visitors to Lane County.

The Destination Award is presented to a business or individual who, through their efforts, have excelled in promoting the community and the Eugene, Cascades & Coast as a visitor destination. 

The Stewardship Award is presented to a business or organization that creates greater business/organization value through its demonstrated commitment to its people (social equity), the planet (environment) and profit (economic value). 

The Community Leadership Award is presented to a group, business or individual that has significantly contributed to the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region's tourism industry or visitor experience through an advocacy program(s), visitor product(s), or community development.
