JUNCTION CITY, OR — Chris Shown, along with his wife Sheree and son Matt, own and operate Brigadoon Vineyards and Brigadoon Wine Company. Tucked into the coastal foothills of the Southern Willamette Valley, just northwest of Eugene in the heart of the Lower Long Tom AVA, Brigadoon Wine Company embodies a multi-generational dedication to sustainable farming and organic viticulture. Every decision—from soil preparation to vine planting—is guided by a single purpose: to craft exceptional wines that reflect the unique character of this land. Their 66-acre property and 15-acre vineyard is farmed using organic practices and spans a quiet tributary of Ferguson Creek.
Brigadoon's commitment to organic farming is matched by their focus on sustainability. This focus led to a partnership with Revino, a company committed to reviving the reusable glass bottle ecosystem. "We’re excited about a future of working with Revino and see this as a great opportunity to make a positive impact in the world and reduce our carbon footprint," noted Matt Shown Brigadoon's winemaker. "This begins with Revino and Brigadoon in our local communities, but we hope it can also evolve into a broader communal movement. Using Revino bottles makes the most significant impact when restaurants, retailers, and consumers work together at scale.”
"Every winery, like Brigadoon, that uses Revino bottles helps grow a network of consumers who are ready to act on their values," shared Adam Rack, co-founder of Revino. "People are increasingly looking past recycling toward circular models, and they want reuse solutions they can trust."
May is Oregon Wine Month—a perfect time to celebrate the success of Oregon’s thriving wine industry by spotlighting one of our standout local wineries. There’s no better way to mark the occasion than by visiting an award-winning vineyard in the Southern Willamette Valley, sampling new releases, and connecting with the winemakers and owners behind this year’s harvest.
“Our Southern Willamette Valley vineyards and wineries continue to demonstrate their deep commitment to sustainable and regenerative farming,” said Andy Vobora, Vice President of Stakeholder Relations at Travel Lane County. “Visitors and residents alike will discover something truly special when they explore our local producers. With Brigadoon’s partnership with Revino, guests also have the opportunity to engage in a forward-thinking program that goes well beyond traditional recycling.”
About Brigadoon Wine Company
Always a farmer at heart, Chris Shown’s involvement in the vineyard and wine industry began in the late 60’s, assisting his father in the establishment of their Rutherford vineyard in the Napa Valley. A strong advocate of organic farming, he is a firm believer in hands-on viticulture. He has always understood the tenet that the best input any farmer can provide is their boots in the field. Proof of that is the mud on his boots and the calluses on his hands.
Sheree Shown's love of wine stems from a joy in pairing exceptional wines with exceptional foods. She is a firm believer in the farm to table movement and has been pairing locally raised lamb (a small family flock was once housed where the tasting room is today) and her own garden produce with Willamette Valley wines for years. Recently retired after a 38-year career as an English teacher, Sheree enjoys her involvement in the tasting room, sharing her love of food and wine pairings.
Matt Shown is the winemaker and vineyard manager. Matt has been working with his father in the vineyards since he was 8 years old, trailing after him on both hot summer afternoons and drizzly winter mornings. Perhaps due to this upbringing, Matt’s winemaking philosophy is rooted in the vineyard. His goal is to act as more of a guide through the winemaking process, allowing each wine an opportunity to express its sense of place. He is just as likely to be found pruning vines in the winter or landscaping around the tasting room gardens as working in the winery. It was Matt’s passion for the entire process, from vineyard to winery, that convinced Chris and Sheree that Brigadoon Wine Co should be born, with Matt as their winemaker and partner.

About Revino
Revino was founded to revive the refillable glass bottle ecosystem for beverage producers and consumers. Co-founders Keenan O'Hern and Adam Rack saw the need for breakthrough change in the packaging options available to the Willamette Valley's world-renowned wine producers. Despite the sustainability efforts taking place in our local vineyards and wineries, packaging remains one of the least controllable and most emissions-heavy contributors to a winery's process. Our dedication to sustainability goes beyond just recycling glass bottles. Revino bottles are a part of a wider closed-loop system that keeps bottles in circulation, supporting the wine industry's drive toward lower emissions and a more circular and sustainable model.Revino’s ecosystem is built with a ‘pooled packaging’ approach, featuring a standardized bottle designed with input from over 75 wineries. Pooled packaging drives down costs, simplifies collections, and provides equitable access to a cooperative system that keeps bottles in circulation — supporting the beverage industry’s drive toward lower emissions.
