FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

David Vobora Returns to Speak at Oregon Sports Summit

A graduate of Churchill High School and the University of Idaho, David Vobora went on to play linebacker in the NFL for the St. Louis Rams and the Seattle Seahawks. Mr. Vobora returns to Eugene on April 7, 2022 to present a keynote address at the Oregon Sports Summit.  Registration is $90 and closes April 1. A limited number of scholarships are available. Scholarship applications are available on the event website and are due by March 31.

Founder of the Adaptive Training Foundation in 2014 David realized that, while there are many excellent rehabilitation programs as well as adaptive/Paralympic sports organizations, none existed to bridge the gap from basic functional rehabilitation to adapted sport. Adaptive Training Foundation (ATF) was conceived to fill this void. He continued helping adaptive athletes create sustainable lifestyle changes over the next six months, and by September of 2014, Adaptive Training Foundation had received its 501(c)3 status to allow outside support for these ambitious athletes. To this day, ATF is committed to keeping its services to adaptive athletes 100% free of charge, and relies on the generosity of people like yourself to not only restore lives, but empower them through movement.

The Eugene, Cascades & Coast Sports Commission is proud to be hosting the annual Oregon Sports Summit on April 7 at Valley River Inn in Eugene. The event will be in person this year after going virtual in 2020 and being postponed last year.

The conference will welcome sports event planners, leaders of sports organizations, sports venue and facility operators, destination management organizations (DMOs), vendors and others from the Oregon sports community for a full-day conference meant to educate, support and inspire event planners to achieve success. Athletic directors, coaches, booster club members and local sports team and league members are also encouraged to attend.

This year will feature a separate educational track for Oregon Destination Management Organizations (DMOs) that is sponsored by Sport Oregon. The specialized track is designed to engage the DMO group in discussion, idea-sharing and strategies to showcase Oregon as the premier destination for sports tourism and will feature peer-to-peer best practices and challenges, panel discussions focused on past successes, and a look ahead to future exciting leverageable opportunities.
