Meeting Professionals Recognize Metzler

Eugene, OR - Meeting Professionals International (MPI) is the largest meeting and event industry association worldwide. The organization provides innovative and relevant education, networking opportunities and business exchanges, and acts as a prominent voice for the promotion and growth of the industry. MPI has a global community of 60,000 meeting and event professionals including nearly 14,000 engaged members. It has nearly 70 chapters, clubs and members in more than 75 countries worldwide. 

Outgoing MPI Oregon chapter president Tara Thomas recognized Travel Lane County's Senior Director, Conventions Juanita Metzler, CMP with the Dian J Lindsay Presidential Award and, following nominations from her peers, Ms. Metzler was also recognized as the MPI Oregon Chapter Supplier of the Year. "Fearless, friendly and faithful are words I can use generously to describe her (Juanita), noted Ms. Thomas. "She leads with heart and soul. Always has a smile on her face and a kind word for everyone she comes in contact with."  

Juanita has been securing meetings and conferences for the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region for more than 13 years and achieved her Certified Meeting Planner certification in 2020. She manages all local and national meeting markets, and specializes in business-to-business relationship building.
