Eugene, OR - The Travel Lane County Charitable Fund is proud to announce its first major gift to a public benefit project that will enhance engagement for residents and visitors: the regional pickleball complex being built at Lane Community College by the Emerald Valley Pickleball Foundation! Slated for completion in 2025, this tournament-quality facility featuring 24 lighted courts will be open and available to the public, transforming lives through fun physical and social activity. As one of the largest dedicated pickleball facilities in the Pacific Northwest and with 10 of its 24 courts covered, it is expected to draw visitors to tournaments year-round.
"Travel Lane County is thrilled to see the first charitable fund distribution go to the planned Regional Pickleball Facility at Lane Community College," noted Kari Westlund, President/CEO, Travel Lane County. "This facility is a perfect match for the vision the Travel Lane County Charitable Fund board foresaw when establishing a 501(c)(3) fund. The partnership between Lane County voters, Lane County, the City of Eugene, Lane Community College, Travel Lane County and other donor and sponsors will bring to life a facility that serves local residents while providing an opportunity to host tournaments that will bring economic impacts throughout the year."

The Emerald Valley Pickleball Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 2021 to support the fundraising needs of the Emerald Valley Pickleball Club. The Foundation seeks to raise funds to support the expansion of pickleball facilities and programs to benefit pickleball players throughout the region.
In June 2022, the Foundation and the Emerald Valley Pickleball Club signed an agreement with LCC that will that will allow for the construction of a state-of-the-art regional pickleball complex on the LCC campus. The facility will be jointly funded by public and private funds, and the Foundation is lead on raising funds for the facility. The complex will have enough courts to meet the needs for drop-in play, leagues, clinics, lessons, and tournaments. We envision a complex similar to the ones shown in the diagrams below, with 16 outdoor courts, 2 outdoor stadium courts, and 8-10 covered courts.
