Hayward Field

Currently under renovation until 2020

Any University of Oregon campus walking tour should include a stop at Hayward Field to soak up the community's running culture.

Hayward Field has hosted 16 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships, seven USATF Outdoor Championships, six U.S. Olympic Team Trials - Track and Field, 44 Prefontaine Classics and numerous other prestigious track and field events. The most recent nationally celebrated event was the 2018 NCAA Division 1 Outdoor Track and Field Championships. Those fortunate enough to participate in it, or to cheer on the athletes, can testify why Eugene is known as TrackTown USA.

For large events, off site parking with shuttles, bicycle valets and bike corrals are the most convenient transportation. Just a few blocks from the field is a charming area known as the Hayward Historic District. In a neighborhood setting, this is a great place to enjoy a craft beer or an ice cream cone!
