Water Trails Paddling

Paddle scenic water trails criss-crossing the Eugene, Cascades & Coast region. On the Oregon Coast, the Siuslaw River water trail and the Siltcoos River canoe trail are excellent for slow, peaceful paddling while you soak up tranquility. These marshy wetlands and tributaries are ideal for birdwatching and fishing. Water trails start in locations such as Florence or Mapleton and wind through a variety of terrain and exciting stopping points including forests, dunes, wildlife refuges and camping sites.

Explore water ways coursing right through the heart of Eugene - Springfield with multiple launch sites for canoes, kayaks or stand-up paddleboards (SUPs). Fast moving rapids can be found in sections of the Willamette River water trail, so be sure to grab a map detailing the river before heading out on your water adventure. Always wear a life jacket.

Calm lakes and reservoirs such as Fern Ridge and Dorena Lake offer park amenities and still, flat water just right for easy paddling. Rent watercraft from a local outfitter or summertime vendor.
